Developers Achieve Native iOS 16 Boot on Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 12 4G Using Modified Apple XNU Kernel
Developers have managed to run iOS 16 natively on Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 12 4G smartphones. The project achieves a direct boot of Apple system components on non-Apple hardware without any underlying Android layer or emulation layer.
The work is based on a customized version of Apple’s XNU kernel together with system files extracted from the iOS 16.7.16 firmware of the iPhone X. Details were published by the dipa-studio team in the ios-sweet repository, with a separate branch called ios-topaz targeting the Redmi Note 12 4G.
On the Redmi Note 10 Pro the touch sensor and physical buttons respond, the Settings app opens, and both the Control Center and Notification Center are accessible. However, the gesture to return to the home screen has not yet been implemented, and the absence of a graphics driver forces the CPU to render the interface at approximately 20–30 frames per second.
Essential hardware remains non-functional: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular connectivity, audio output, cameras, and GPS do not work. The App Store and Apple ID authentication are unavailable, and the boot process takes roughly four minutes.
The Redmi Note 12 4G port currently stops at the lock screen because the fingerprint sensor is not yet supported. The authors emphasize that the project is experimental, that many iOS security mechanisms have been disabled, and that installation permanently erases all Android user data on the device.

Astra Group has launched the Astra AI Platform, a low-code constructor designed for creating corporate AI applications that operate entirely within closed circuits without reliance on foreign clouds. Multi-Tenancy Isolation in VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaLogs and Grafana: Building Client Separation in a Shared Stack
Voltir runs a single shared monitoring stack consisting of VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaLogs, Grafana and vmalert for all customers instead of deploying separate instances per tenant. Isolation relies on numeric account IDs enforced at every layer: nginx validates tokens against the platform API before proxying writes, Grafana data sources hard-code tenant accounts, and vmalert rules receive automatic account filters. The team discovered that a single malformed rule or template could break alerting for every tenant because vmalert loads the entire rules directory at once. They also found that Grafana automatically created personal organizations granting Org Admin rights, accumulating hundreds of orphaned organizations and users that consumed disk space and resources. A dedicated cleanup module plus hourly reconciliation now removes rules, organizations, series and users when a tenant is deleted, while isolation tests verify both data and API objects across tenants.
